A Door is an object in Pizza Tower.

Description

There are five main sprites for doors, each featured in levels on a different floor:

  • Tower Lobby doors have frames made out of purple bricks.
  • Western District doors have a dark wooden frame, with pebbles of sand on the floor.
  • Vacation Resort doors have a red and white striped patterned frame.
  • Slum doors have a white frame, and a light brown partially open door with a purple doorknob.
  • Staff Only doors are crudely made with a lighter colored wooden frame.

Aside from those five, there are three other door appearances:

  • In WAR, there is a unique metal splitting door, used for the level's Lap 2 route.
  • Each floor has a white chef hat door that turns golden once all Chef Tasks of a world are completed (excluding P ranks).
  • Staff Only also has a unique metal door with a small Pizzaface sign on the top of it, used to move between the main part of the floor and the Pizzaface hallway.

Behavior

All open doors function identically. Peppino or The Noise can enter them with whatever button is registered as the "up" control, and will be transported to another room with an appropriate door on the other side where they come out. Consequentially, all doors are technically really a pair of doors in the game's level design.

Some doors will close to block entry under certain circumstances, however. Western District and Vacation Resort have doors that get closed off by John faces during Pizza Time. They can be seen mostly in GOLF and Fastfood Saloon. The final doorway before Pillar John in the Tutorial and the metal sliding doorway in WAR are distinguished in that they are open on one side of their door pairs, but always closed on the other side, effectively making them one-way doors.

Trivia

  • In older demos, doors would have a glowing light that would disappear once the room had been entered.
  • The golden door has had different purposes in different demos, such as being a door to the secret treasure in very old demos, and as a special door for Snick's Challenge.
  • The pepper doors were used for a scrapped chase section of the unused Mansion level, where the player would be chased by Pepperman.
