GOLF (Build)

From Pizza Tower Wiki
This article is about an early build of the game made for April Fools; for level introduced in this build see: Pre-release:GOLF (Level) (Build)

Cactus goes well on pizza.

This build has a page on The Cutting Room Floor.

GOLF is a joke build of Pizza Tower made for April Fools Day, in which McPig said that Pizza Tower was cancelled in favor of this.

This build features a single level, made specifically for this build. Beating it shows a message about two of the three secret modes, added into the game. These were present only in this build and did not carry over afterwards.

Characters' moveset changes

Pistol

Pressing will allow Peppino to shoot his pistol. He can shoot in almost any direction: left, right, up (by the player holding ), diagonally up (by the player holding and either or ), while crouching, as well as airborne. Moving in any direction and shooting will airborne will make Peppino slide when he lands.

Taunt

Pressing and will make Peppino strike a pose. Does not serve any gameplay purpose.

Glide

The ability to glide has been removed.

Pistol

While The Noise himself cannot shoot, it is still possible to shoot the pistol normally in Noise Mode. The catch is, the animations are going to be that of Peppino.

Taunt

Same as with the pistol: while The Noise himself cannot taunt, the player still can press and to strike a pose. The sprites will be those of Peppino.

Enemies

This build introduces following enemies:

Secret Modes

Fun Mode and Noise Mode are revealed to the player after completing the demo, leaving Fake Peppino Mode a secret.

  • Fun Mode destroys all Nerd Blocks in the level. The mode can be activated by pressing F1.
  • Noise Mode swaps Peppino’s sprites and moveset with The Noise’s. Noise Mode lasts until the player either dies, beats the level or quits the game. The mode can be activated by pressing F2.
  • Fake Peppino Mode spawns Fake Peppino at the player’s current position. Upon activation, Fake Peppino doesn't move, and only starts chasing the player during the escape. He spawns in the room after a three-second cooldown (unless he was spawned in that room already) and starts chasing the player, jumping over obstacles. Upon approaching the player, it will attempt to grab them. This mode can be activated by pressing F9.

Minor Differences

This build does not feature a titlescreen, and as such it's impossible to change keybindings.

Bugs

Golf Hit Counter

Golf Hit counter is not reset between rooms when the Fun Mode is activated. It only resets once the player get the Greaseball to the hole.

Fake Peppino

Fake Peppino can't reach the player in some instances:

  • While the player is standing on a small elevated platform, causing Fake Peppino to not be able to jump on it.
  • While the player is standing on a Tower Secret Treasure pedestal, causing Fake Peppino to walk around aimlessly, as he does not register the pedestal as a proper semi-solid platform.
  • While the player is standing behind a wall that is five or less tiles wide, causing Fake Peppino to attempt to grab them regardless of the obstacle in the way.
