Category:Scrapped bosses
This category lists scrapped bosses. They may range from concepts, to fully or partially developed assets in prerelease builds.
General information
The initial idea for the boss fights was more akin to some of the Wario Land games, where the player would not be able to lose health, and instead they would be thrown off the arena, restarting the fight as a result.
Around early 2019 the idea was changed. Each of the boss fights would be against The Noise, with each fight changing the core idea behind it, such as a traditional boss fight or something resembling a mini-game.
In 2020 the idea was changed once again. Now it was more like a regular stage, where the player had to reach the boss and attack them, although mini-game-like ideas for bosses were still occasionally mentioned in that period of time. Toppin Warriors would appear at the start of the level, depending on if the player has collected all of the Toppins of the same type in the previous levels of the world. They would help the player in different scenarios, such as extending the escape timer for the level.
In 2021 the boss fights became more traditional again. Both the player and the boss now have large HP bars. The player needs to attack the the boss as often as possible while dodging their moves. The boss attacks can deal different amount of damage and stun the player for longer amount of time. The fight is separated into 6-7 rounds, each one lasting 45 seconds, by the end of which both the player and the boss return to their starting positions. The player would also be able to fill up their special move bar to perform an attack that causes large amount of damage. The bosses would be able to parry the player's hits as well. If the player did not defeat the boss in the set amount of rounds, they automatically lose.
In 2022 the bosses had the last major rework, making them similar to how they behave in the release version, albeit with some minor differences in attacks.
Trivia
- Bosses were originally planned to be structured in a drastically different way, acting as time trials rather than traditional bosses, and the boss simply acted as an obstacle near the end of the level.
- In addition, at one point, the bosses were meant to have health bars styled like a fighting game. There also exists unused graphics showing various characters holding round signs, probably meant for these kinds of bosses.
- One of the ideas for the 2021 boss design was that the HUD would have Peppino's and the boss's heads. Pizzahead would use said Peppino's head as one of his attacks.
- Another one of talked ideas for 2021 boss design was that the rounds would have short break sections, akin to Punch-Out!! games, during which various events could happen, such as The Noise attacking the player during said break.

Uses a spinning move across the screen, the skateboard attack, throws Noise Bombs, that either slowly bounce in one direction or quickly slide across the arena, uses a pogo stick, that increases the speed the longer he's jumping across the arena, and tries to fly around with a jetpack, flying towards the player & then trying to land on them. Tries to rush down the player as much as possible. After losing all HP, he restores the bar back to full and starts round 1 all over again, making the player fight him all over again. The fight ends after The Noise loses all his HP the second time. | April Build (2021)

Flies towards the player and grabs them, dashes directly towards the player, flies down and uses green pepper as a spike across the screen, throws two bouncy objects in different directions. After some of the attacks leaves a throwable object that can be used against him. Rounds are disabled. At two thirds of the HP bar left, Pizzahead reveals himself. | Rework

Goes from one end of the arena to another, pulling a random attack. He can either use a present that launches in an arc towards the player, get a musketeer outfit, moving towards the other end of the arena twice, which also gives the player temporarily the Knight transformation, and throws the giant Peppino's head from the old HUD. At last third HP he gets into the final phase, with only a single attack being finished, where he launches his big leg across the screen. | Rework |

Boss Orders
2019
Besides the fact that all of these boss fights would be against The Noise, there isn't much information known about these beyond a name.
- Pizza Arena
- Pizza Showdown
- Pizza Passage
- Pizza Time
- Pizza Heist
2020
Besides Cheese Dragon, none of these have any concept art attached to them, only discussed ideas.
- Cheese Dragon
- Mort UFO — The player would have to use the super jump to hit him.
- Kung fu Arena — "combat tourney; a bit like kirby arena; opponent 1; cowboy cheeseslime; dies in 1 hit; opponent 2; noise in a kung fu suit; you fight gustavo"
- City election — The player would need to throw enemies in the players booth and beat up other enemies to reduce the poll of the mayor, as Peppino himself at the start only has 1 vote, that being himself.
- Fake Peppino danceoff — A rhythm battle, where the player would need to make the same moves as Fake Peppino, while also dodging projectiles. "I Ain't Got No Time to Dance" was meant to be used for this boss fight.

The first time a proper boss list has been made, with 4th boss being the only one that was different.
