John Block is a block in Pizza Tower.
Description
John Block is a purple block with Pillar John's face. Its yellow flashing eyes can be seen when it's awake.
Behaviour
John Blocks activate or deactivate once Pillar John has been defeated. In most levels, these blocks make certain paths and shortcuts accessible. However, sometimes they can reveal a path that makes it more tedious to get to the beginning, while also blocking some of the previous routes.
Trivia
- These act the same as frog blocks from Wario Land 4, which switch states when the frog switch has been pressed.
- These blocks had a very different design in Early Test Build, having a face and color similar to the Weenie enemy.
- After Early Test Build, John Blocks did not appear in subsequent demos until GOLF demo.
- In the Early Test Build, John Blocks would die when it's Pizza Time instead of becoming either active or inactive.
- These blocks are called "geromeblock" in the files, possibly as reference to Gerome, John's brother.
- The early version of John Blocks were called "obj_enemyblock" which is similar to unused Enemy Block's name.
- In the sprites of awaken John Block, there is a small design error, an empty pixel near the right eye.
