Here are some basic groundrules you have to understand before creating an account and editing pages.

By signing up, you agree that you're 15+ years old and that you speak English well enough without producing too many grammatical, spelling or interpunction errors.
We have zero tolerance for people looking to vandalize the wiki or spread misinformation because it's considered "funny". You'll get blocked and we'll lock you out of creating a new account with no exceptions or appeals.
Creating an account with the sole purpose of only creating a userpage without contributing to the wiki itself will lead to a temporary suspension. The Pizza Tower Wiki is a wiki, and not your personal social media or meme page.
NSFW or NSFL content is not allowed in any shape or form. If you see any, remove it and contact a staff member.
Creating alt accounts, especially in order to bypass a block or other account restrictions is not allowed. Attempting to create an alt after a block will result in a systematic auto-block.
Copying text word-by-word, unless you're quoting something or someone, counts as plagerism.
This isn't FANDOM. There's no discussion board, no user blogs and no threads. Wiki's are wiki's, and not a form of social media where you can talk edgy to other users. We're expecting you to keep this in mind while editing talk pages or your userpage.
Do not test the patience of the moderation team. Breaking a rule for the sole purpose of trying to anger them will only lead to harsher punishments.
Note that bans on the wiki also apply on our Discord server with no appeals. You're given only one chance, so don't screw it up.

(Prerelease) Builds

A build is a version of a game that was compiled and in a playable state. Pizza Tower is no exception to this, having its builds distributed in common .zip files, which can be extracted without the need of special software in most scenarios. Below are the requirements of a build page.

Prerelease builds use a {{Basic Demo Info}} infobox, which displays basic information about the presented build.

  • For the display image, take a screenshot of the very first moment Peppino or the Noise appears on screen. This differs from build to build, as some prerelease builds have a title screen, while some nerf it to spawn the player directly into a room.
  • Avoid using fanmade names for prerelease builds. Refer builds to their names provided by their .zip files. You may create a redirect if the build in question has a name that people commonly use.
  • Builds presented by a month may also have their year of release added.
    • Example: PT_Rework_v1.1.zip. This build may be presented as "Rework Build v1.1".
    • Example: PTjanuarymonthlybuild1.zip. This build may be presented as "January Build (2019)".

Tagging Files

To easily identify files of different types and sort in categories, it's important that you tag your files before uploading them. These tags help everyone identify and see where the file you posted originates from, such as a Discord attachment, something from the game's files, or maybe even a personal file for your user page.

We have a total of 11 relevant tags. These are as follows:

Tag Example Description
{{audiofile|source}} {{audiofile|link=[https://soundcloud.com/froggy-dj/anchovi Frostix - anchovi.]}}
This is an audio file. Source: Frostix - anchovi..

{{audiofile|discord=Pizza Tower Discord, #music-of-the-whenever}}

This is an audio file. Source: Pizza Tower Discord, #music-of-the-whenever.
This tag is used to post audio files that were posted by Tour de Pizza or official soundtrack uploads from Soundcloud or YouTube. These files can be music from the official soundtrack, work-in-progresses, audio files never used in the game, and so on.

This does not apply to audio files ripped from a playable build. In that case, use {{audiorip}} instead.

{{audiorip}}
This audio was extracted (ripped) from the game's files.
This tag is used when uploading audio ripped from the game's files using UndertaleModTool or Fmod Bank Tools.

If it's uploaded by one of the developers and uploaded to YouTube, use a <youtube>URL</youtube> tag instead.

{{userpage-file}}
This is a file used on a userpage.
This tag is used when uploading files for your own userpage that don't belong on the main wiki. These files can be your art, characters, etc.

Grammar & Spelling

  • Avoid talking to the reader directly (using the word "you"). Always talk in a third-person point of view.
    • Example: "You're tasked to stop the evil Pizza Tower" is not allowed. "The player is tasked to stop the evil Pizza Tower" is allowed.
  • Use the names of characters or other material as they're presented in-game.
  • Be sure to add relevant category tags if you're creating a new page.
  • If a page was previously deleted, please do not recreate the page unless given approval by a staff member.

Files

Images

  • Give images proper names. Avoid uploading files using very short filenames, unchanged sprite names, sentences for files or complete gibberish.

The following examples are filenames that are allowed:

    • ptSeptember2021_JohnGutter-1.png
    • PizzaTower-spr_player_idle.png
    • tourdepizza_spriterip_explosion.png
    • Windows-PizzaTower-desert_1.png
    • ETB_mus_scary.ogg

The following examples are filenames that are not allowed:

    • Uhm?.png
    • spr_player_idle.png
    • ermmm_what_the_blast.png
    • desert_1.png
    • mus_scary.ogg
  • Don't use invalid characters (, /, :, *, ?, ", <, >, |) when saving an image.
  • Check before uploading an image and avoid uploading duplicate files. If you have a higher quality image that isn't uploaded, go to the image's page and click on "Upload a new version of this file".
    • If nothing changes, clear your browser's cache or hold Shift + F5 together to refresh and clear cache for the page that's currently opened.

Taking Screenshots

  • When taking screenshots, always make sure you're taking it from a windowed 960x540 resolution. Make sure to crop out the Windows UI. For Steam, your default hotkey for taking a screenshot is F12.
    • A thin line might appear when taking screenshots in the retail game. If this happens, please check "Removing Gameframe Borderless Window".
  • If your screenshot is in a 1920x1080 resolution, it's recommended to scale it down by 50% using Nearest Neighbor settings.
  • Avoid saving your screenshots with Microsoft Paint. Some browsers render colors improperly when saving in Microsoft Paint. If you don't have any other program installed to crop and/or save screenshots, we recommend you use Paint.NET.

Facts & Trivia

  • For content in the trivia section, only include factual information, and not your own or someone else's opinion.
  • If the item has a source, such as a post from the developer(s) or certain behavior found in a prerelease build, include it as such using the <ref> tag. Make sure to add a </ref> tag to the end of the article.
Example:
<ref>[https://store.steampowered.com/app/2231450/Pizza_Tower/ Pizza Tower (Steam)]</ref>

Unused Content

If the prerelease build presented also has an article on The Cutting Room Floor, add a {{TCRF|build}} tag on the top of the page.

Cactus goes well on pizza.

This build has a page on The Cutting Room Floor.

What can I (not) add to a page?

It can sometimes be hard to tell what content is or isn't allowed on the wiki. This list includes the basic do's and don'ts.

Do include...

  • Content ripped directly from the game, such as sprites, music, rooms, code (when necessary), etc.
  • Assets created by Tour de Pizza that never made it into the game's files.
  • Concept art drawn by Tour de Pizza.
  • Audio and video, which can be embedded
  • Leaks or unreleased assets, such as playtester-only prerelease builds prior to the game's release, source code comments and unreleased music.
    • Exception: Documenting leaked content that was created/compiled after release, such as current playtester builds or other material that wasn't meant to be seen by the public yet.
  • Content outside of Pizza Tower created by Tour de Pizza as long as it's relevant, such as prior cancelled projects or drawings/sketches predating the game.

Don't include...

  • Names of individuals who have been responsible for leaks or hate speech.
    • Exception: If they have a Pizzasona drawn by Tour de Pizza, they are allowed to be mentioned.
  • Fan content, which includes, but isn't limited to fanart, comics, mods, or anything not created by Tour de Pizza.
    • Exception: If it's for your userpage, tag the image appropriately. If it's neither, it will be removed.
  • Screenshots from videos that have been cropped, don't add anything that we already have in higher quality or isn't used for a comparison.
  • Memes or shitposts, especially images that aren't related to Pizza Tower whatsoever.

If you have something you want to post and you're unsure, contact a staff member.

How do I remove the yellow border around my screenshots?

The retail game uses a Game Maker extension known as Gameframe. This extension removes the usual Windows border when playing the game in a window. Part of the screen gets overwritten by a very thin border, which can be problematic when taking screenshots. Below are instructions on how to disable this extension.

  1. Backup your Pizza Tower Steam files just in case. You can find these files in C:C:Program Files (x86)SteamsteamappscommonPizza Tower.
  2. Download the latest release of UndertaleModTool from Github. If you don't know what you're doing, download CLI-windows-latest-Release-isBundled-true.zip.
  3. After downloading and opening the application, click on "Filter by name..." and type in "obj_screensizer_Create". Under Data > Code, click on the script of the same name.
  4. Once you're in the code, click on "Disassembly" and look for a piece of text reading "call.i gml_Script_gameframe_init(argc=0)". Once you've found it, delete it.
  5. Under Data > General info, click on "Flags", remove "BorderlessWindow".
  6. Finally, rename or delete gameframe_x64.dll. The regular Windows border should be restored.
