Description
Unlocking and Starting
Swap Mode uses the same save file as the Noise Campaign. Upon selecting a save file in this mode, the player will be brought to a character select screen. The player can change between Peppino and The Noise by pressing c and down. If a second controller is connected, two players can control one of the two.

# Complete the campaign as The Noise.
How to Unlock
If the player is in the room with the Present that brings them to the Pizzaface boss fight as Noise, there will be smoke coming from the left. Jump off of the platform, and you'll crash into Peppino's house, waking him up. Exiting through the door will unlock Swap Mode.
# While playing as The Noise, go to the tower exterior, right before the Pizza Face battle. Jump off the platform on the left, landing in the rising smoke.
# Once you're off screen, you'll land directly in Peppino's House. Leaving it will show you a screen saying "Swap Mode Unlocked."
# On the main menu, you'll now be able to scroll down past The Noise's files, allowing you to play them in swap mode.

Swap Mode
If you are playing by yourself, you are able to quick-swap between Peppino and Noise by pressing the taunt button and the down arrow. You can also play as Gustavo and Brick during Swap Mode.

As Player 1, or the 'leader', you can play the game as regularly intended. As Player 2, or the 'follower', you can only Grab, Taunt, or Dash (only usable when the leader is dashing). Though you are unable to move your character regularly, you may try to grab the leader. If the leader is successfully grabbed, the follower will immediately take control and become the new leader, reducing the other player to the follower. Taking damage or falling into a pit will also give control to the follower. When both players hold Dash at the same time (whether coordinated or incidental), both players will be locked into a fightball that bounces off walls until someone lets go of Dash, thus losing control.

With all this in mind, the average level becomes simultaneously a contest for control and test of coordination. Upon reaching the end of a course, the scoreboard will compare each players scores and determine the 'winner'.

Gustavo & Brick are also functionable in their respective sections during Swap Mode.

Swap Mode is a mode added in the Noise Update. This mode is playable as both a Single-Player and Local Co-Op/Versus mode, and only allows for playing as Peppino and Noise respectively. There is no online functionality currently, and is referred to as a "secret mode" in patch notes. Additionally, it does not have unique save files and you must resume or start one of your Noise files to play.

Unlocking and Starting

 1. Complete the campaign as The Noise.
 2. While playing as The Noise, go to the tower exterior, right before the Pizza Face battle. Jump off the platform on the left, landing in the rising smoke.
 3. Once you're off screen, you'll land directly in Peppino's House. Leaving it will show you a screen saying "Swap Mode Unlocked."
 4. On the main menu, you'll now be able to scroll down past The Noise's files, allowing you to play them in swap mode.
