Crust Cove

From Pizza Tower Wiki

The beach level is the first level of World 3 and introduces many new enemies and mechanics. It starts off in a cruise ship and then transitions into a beach at sunset with pink sand. Later on in the level, there is also a cove area.

In the most recent Patreon build, this level is able to be loaded in, albeit in a very unfinished state. While this version does have the base layout of the level, there are no tiles, unfinished objects, and the background from The Wasteyard is used as a placeholder.

(Please, eliminate this last part once the level has an official release).

Mechanics

  • Barrel Transformation: Peppino will be stuck in a barrel. He can float on water if the barrel is above water and can roll into enemies and blocks, most notably outlets, on land.
  • Dangerous Water: Not much known about this, but it will likely be a roadblock requiring the Barrel.
  • Balloons: Act as a way to access higher up platforms by sending Peppino upward, similar to how the balloons work in A Hat in Time.

New enemies

  • Cannon Pizza Goblin: Unlike normal Pizza Box Goblins, these will shoot bombs as a projectile, rather than throwing it, with the bomb moving in a straight line rather than in an arc. However, the bombs from this enemy can't be grabbed.
  • Pineacool: These enemies will walk left and right normally. Touching their head is dangerous.
  • Piraneapple: These will aggressively move left and right and can only be defeated by throwing an enemy at them or using a transformation to defeat them. Touching the mouth will hurt the player. Doesn't get scared.
  • Spit Cheese: Sits in place and spits spiky cheeseballs in an arc.

Trivia

  • The pink sand in the beach section of the level is inspired by an image of a pink beach on Komodo Island.
  • The room "Super Jump Cavern" might be a nod to the popular Bribble Co. game, Super Cube Cavern.
