Ranks are final badges for completing a stage in Pizza Tower.

Their final outcome depends on the amount of points collected in the level, with the amount needed for higher ranks varying throughout each level, and potentially if the player kept a combo going for the entire level. In boss levels, the rank depends on the total damage taken.

Ranks

D-Rank

D-Ranks are usually given out when Peppino or The Noise complete the stage with little to no points, or when defeating a boss stage having taken 9 or more hits.

Peppino sarcastically congratulates the player and says "Good job, that was awful!" (AWFUL)

The Noise goes into a maliciously angry fit, yelling garbled text at the player and flaunting a demonic appearance. (DIE)

C-Rank

C-Ranks are usually given out when Peppino or The Noise complete a stage with a mediocre amount of points, or when defeating a boss stage having taken 7 or 8 hits.

Peppino glances off slightly to the screen's right, looking exhausted, and says "That was bad." (BAD)

The Noise simply stares into the screen in disappointment. (CRAP)

B-Rank

B-Ranks are usually given out when Peppino or The Noise complete the stage with a decent amount of points(double the required amount for C), but not enough for an A-Rank, or when defeating a boss stage having taken 5 or 6 hits.

Peppino would say "Oh, OK." with a surprised face. (OK)

The Noise ignorantly opens his hand and says "Eh..." (BAD Do Better!!!!!)

A-Rank

A-Ranks are usually given out when Peppino or The Noise complete the stage with a bunch of points(double the required amount for B), usually around 8000+, or when defeating a boss stage taken either 3 or 4 hits.

Peppino looks into the screen happily and says "Very Nice!" (NICE)

The Noise sips a can of soda through a straw, lowers his sunglasses to look into the screen, and says "Not an S..." (NOT AN S)

S-Rank

S-Ranks are given out when Peppino or The Noise get nearly every source of points in the level and they complete the stage with usually around 16000+ points (double the required amount for A), or when defeating a boss stage having taken either 1 or 2 hits.

Peppino raises his arms and presumably yells in victory. (PERFECT)

The Noise gasps excitedly over the player's achievement. (PERFECT)

P-Rank

P-ranks are given out when Peppino or The Noise start the combo at the beginning of the level, and then keep the same combo until they complete the entire level. You must complete all secrets, collect the secret item for the respective stage, and complete lap 2, while also reaching the score requirement of an S rank - the exception being The Crumbling Tower of Pizza, where due to lacking secrets, a secret item and Lap 2, you just need to reach the score requirement of Rank S and keep the combo running for the entire escape. With boss fights, you must complete the entire fight without taking a single hit. You do not need to collect all Toppins to earn P-rank.

Peppino, rather than coming in from the left, slides in through the right and strikes a pose as a deep blue background of the top of some form of fortress dithers into view.

The Noise's P-Rank sprite is not finished yet, likely due to him not being intended as playable in later demos like the Eggplant build.

Trivia

  • In the SAGE 2019 Demo, Snick does not get any ranks, possibly because of the point-health system. Instead, he's just brought straight back to the hub after beating the level.
  • While he was playable, The Vigilante used The Noise's rank screens as a placeholder, due to him not having any at the moment.
  • A concept similar to the P-Rank that came before it was the W-Rank. According to PTG, it would've been the same as or similar to S-Rank but with a combo maintained for the entire level.
  • In the Eggplant build, because no ranks were made for all the levels yet, a special "Eggplant" rank was given instead, sharing the D-rank sprite and presenting the icon of an eggplant instead and telling the player that the "RANKS ARE NOT SET YET!"
