Shrimp Thug is an enemy in Pizza Tower.

Description

Shrimp Thug is a shrimp with arms that wears gloves. His whiskers are shaped in a way that makes it look like a mustache. He also has large eyebrows and usually visible teeth. He is usually seen with an angry expression. Elite Shrimp Thugs seem to be cooked shrimp and as such are a darker red.

Behavior

When spotting the player, Shrimp Thug will move towards the player in an attempt to punch them. The punch is capable of breaking through some blocks, such as Breakable Blocks. They can also jump over some objects, as long as they are not too tall for them. Elite Shrimp Thugs throw knives from a short distance, but will still try to move towards the player and jump over objects to get in range like regular Shrimp Thugs.

Elite Shrimp Thug throws knives instead of punching.

Trivia

• Shrimp Thug was inspired by classic beat 'em up games, mostly from Streets of Rage.
• Shrimp Thugs had two variants:
  • Blue Shrimp Thugs would throw knives instead of punching. Eventually they were added back in as Elite Shrimp Thugs.
  • Green Shrimp Thugs would throw junk in a small arc.
• The green Shrimp Thug seems to be based on another enemy from McPig's earlier game, Weenie Cop. In it, there was a burger enemy that also threw junk in an arc.
• The palette for the green and blue Shrimp Thugs were found in the game files of the April 2021 Build, confirming they were palette swaps.
• Shrimp Thug's Heat Meter attack was throwing a knife at the player, being reused for his Elite behavior.
  • In the final release, The Elite variations of Shrimp Thug and Pizza Slug, as well as the Tribe Cheese, Bandito Chicken and U.F.Olive, remained the only enemies to still use their Heat Meter behaviour.
