Unlike Pizza Time, WAR's timer does not pause in secret rooms, making it possible to fail in secret rooms. WAR is the nineteenth level of Pizza Tower, and the third level of the Staff Only. The level has a unique time limit mechanic, with no Pillar John and consequently, no Pizza Time. Instead, WAR has a timer activated soon after starting the level that is constantly active and must be extended through destroying War Terminals found throughout the level.

WAR features three setting themes: a short entrance section set in a bunker, an outdoor section set in an active military battlefield, and an indoor section set in an industrial laboratory overrun by Peppino Clones.

The level's titlecard is set in a battlefield, with a closeup of Peppino's face as he screams in horror. In the background, a grinning Peppino Clone wearing a combat helmet runs away from an explosion and towards Peppino.
