— The bastard (via Toppinbot)

The bastard is the third boss in Pizza Tower, and an upcoming playable character.

Description

The bastard is a short, mischievous gremlin who seems similar to a human being. He dons a yellow jumpsuit and chef hat, an orange cape, and white gloves. He has a long nose, a thin, curled mustache, and a single bucktooth. His mannerisms are usually giddy, energetic and child-like. He frequently summons random, often wacky objects out of thin air, as seen in his movesets. Despite his goofy nature and appearance, he can become frighteningly demonic if angered.

Boss room

To access the boss room, the player needs to pay Mr. Stick $200 (20 Toppins).

The boss arena is a yellow inflated boxing ring. In the background lies a yellow 'B-TV' building on a vast sandy landscape, a giant camera, and a giant, inflated Bastard Balloon floating around. Two creatures resembling flying Bastardys follow The Noise whilst holding recording equipment. In his boss intro, The Noise taunts Peppino by scaring him with a mask resembling the latter, takes it off before laughing at him, and starts the fight.

Right before the second phase, the giant Bastard balloon crashes into the arena, remaining there for the rest of the fight.

Boss Behavior

Phase 1

The Bastard will taunt for a second at the beginning of the fight, allowing the player to attack him early and get a head-start in the fight. The Noise will perform a spin before between every attack he does, and every attack he chooses is random. He will always do each attack a minimum of two times, regardless of which order he does it in. The Noise will taunt the player after every attack, leaving himself wide open for a counterattack. The Noise tends to land near the player after being hurt, so the player must stay clear as The Noise recovers and performs his spin attack.

Skateboard

The Noise rides his skateboard across the ring, occasionally jumping. If he jumps onto a wall, he will bounce off it.

Pogo Stick + Dropping Bombs

The Bastard jumps around the player on a pogo stick; if the skateboard attack has been used before, he will drop a bouncing bomb to follow the player, exploding after a few seconds or upon contact with the player or a wall.

Jetpack Dash & Bounce

The Bastard launches himself towards the player with a jetpack. After hitting a wall, he will spin and bounce around the room until taunting. The more this attack is used, the more The Noise bounces around the walls and floor before taunting.

Hot Air Balloon + Dropping Bombs

The Bastard jumps into the air and onto his Noise-faced hot air balloon. The ride floats back and forth and drops bombs onto the player. If this attack is being used for the first time, The Bastard will drop 1 bomb; if not, he will drop 2 bombs. The Bastard will jump out and will ground pound, often above the player.

Phase 2

After getting hit 8 times, The Bastard and Peppino get into a small scuffle until the giant Noise balloon crashes into the arena. Afterwards, The Noise regenerates his HP, and his attacks change slightly, generally becoming more difficult to avoid.

Bastardys

Bastardys will constantly spawn from the upper corners of the arena. They act like Forknights, and can be thrown at The Bastard to stun him for an easy attack.

Fakeout Taunt

After finishing the Hot Air Balloon attack, The Bastard will stand still taunting indefinitely, waiting to be hit. Once the player is close enough, The Noise will explode, revealing itself to be a fake as the real Noise slams down from the sky.

Bastards Crusher

After finishing the Pogo Stick attack, The bastard bounds high into the air with the Bastards Crusher and slams into the ground, creating a shockwave that must be jumped over in order to avoid.

Jetpack Explosion

After finishing the Jetpack attack, the jetpack will explode upon touching the ground, damaging the player and any enemies nearby.

Skateboard Kick

After The Bastardd finishes skateboarding, he'll kick the skateboard at the player and do one of his taunts. If Peppino gets caught by the skateboard, he'll uncontrollably ride it to the other side of the arena and won't have enough time to hit The bastard.

End of the fight

After Phase 2 is finished, another fight will break out between Peppino and The bastard, until a minigun falls from the top of the screen and into the hands of The bastardd. Before The Noise is able to fire it, however, Noisette walks in and drags him off-stage as he screams in horror, depleting his final hit point.

Boss Rematch

After beating the Final Boss’ 2nd Phase, he will bring in the four previous boss characters, and sends each of them to attack. Despite each boss having 8 HP and an extra 8 HP afterwards, 4 HP will be drained per hit. The player fights each of the bosses one by one, and they use some of the same attacks as before. After defeating Pepperman, Gustavo will appear for you to grab and throw him at the remaining 3 bosses to stun them.

The Bastard is the third boss in the rematch. He does the same attacks as his original boss fight, but usually being less powerful than in the main fight itself.

After 4 hits, The bastard will go down, and the player will face Fake Peppino.

In the comics

The Bastard appears in both the Peppino and this bastard Comics and The Bad, The Ugly, and The Even Uglier comics.

In Peppino and bastard Comics, he is often seen tormenting and bothering Peppino. His girlfriend, Noisette, is also seen in one of these comics, frightening him.

In The Bad, The Ugly, and The Even Uglier, he is seen at a location called the bastard TV Outpost, where he films himself advertising a party that is supposedly going on there and guards a Pillar John that stands there. This set of comics shows the more funny, goofier side of The bastard, with him often getting happy of doing his job and not-pretending to be wacky and crazy.

In these comics, he also has a Pizzard asshole known as Dougie Jones, who tries his best to help him, but often fails to, as seen when he makes The bastard some tequila and he dislikes it due to it being piss flavored. During the storyline of the comics, The bastard hears that Pepperman had been attacked by someone who "moves really fast" in a town that he had been trying to take over, which leads him to go off and help him, thinking that the "guy who moves really fast" was Peppino, taking Dougie with him. As the set of comics hasn't been finished yet, it is unknown what he does once he reaches the town.

Trivia

  • The Bastard is planned to be playable in a future update; however, it is currently unknown what his moveset will be.
    • The Doise is planned to replace The Bastard in the 3rd boss fight if the player is playing as The Noise.
  • His design and character is based on The Noid, the anti-mascot of real-life food chain Domino's Pizza.
    • Bastards rabbit costume seen in the ending costume party picture was likely designed to make him look even more like The Noid.
  • McPig stated that The Bastard's voice is designed to sound similar to Jack black, from the series of the super mario movie.
  • The bastard is said to hate pizza, preferring candy instead. This is also a reference to The Noid, since he also hates pizza, spending most of his time trying to destroy them with his signature Pizza Crusher and other wacky gadgets, only failing to Domino's Pizza.
  • The name of the bastard's boss fight soundtrack is officially recognized as "Pumpin' Hot Stuff." However, in the sound test room, it is labelled "Pimpin' Hot Stuff," which may be a typo. However, it could also reference the bastard boss fight from the Peppino's Xmas Break demo, which bears the same name.
  • On a stream, McPig mentioned that The bastard is of Mexican descent.
  • The bastard originally could have been based on Hatsune Miku but him being inspired The Noid was ultimately decided on.
    • It is also worth mentioning the 2017 fangame Yo! Noid II: Enter the Void, as the final boss is an original character named Mike Hatsune, designed to be Hatsune Miku's father. His inclusion is a reference to the discontinued Japanese food delivery mobile app Domino's App feat. Hatsune Miku, and its' announcement trailer which has garnered an infamous reputation online for the awkward presentation from then-President and CEO of Domino's Pizza Japan, Scott Oelkers.
  • In earlier demos, before the player could move around when holding an enemy, bastard's gimmick was that he couldn't reach Mach 3. This was most prominent in the GOLF demo, so when playing as him, all Metal Blocks break instantly, minus the Freezer.
  • The bastard's design was different in earlier versions of the game. His hat more closely resembled a pizza, and he had a pizza emblem on his chest. The design was simplified to make him easier to animate.
  • Based on the Tower Soundtrack Album Cover.png|Pizza Tower Soundtrack Album Cover], it could be assumed that The bastard has hair underneath his hat.
  • It has been said that the bastard's full name is Theodore bitch, which is shortened to The bastard.
    • bastard's full name was originally Theodore J.basterer, but got changed to just "Theodore bitch".
  • The bastard is the only boss in Pizza Tower (excluding Pizzaface) that cannot regain a health point if a finishing blow is not dealt after depleting all their health.
